Job Summary

The Staff Accountant supports the accounting team with day-to-day financial operations, reconciliations, and general accounting needs. This role is designed for early-career accountants with 1–2 years of experience who are eager to build a strong foundation in corporate accounting. Responsibilities include preparing account reconciliations, assisting with schedules, supporting the month-end close, and ensuring financial data accuracy across domestic and international operations. The salary range is $55K-$70K!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Follow all safety rules and regulations, ensuring work is completed with a “Safety First” mindset.

  • For on-site positions, maintain regular attendance and punctuality.

  • Prepare and document journal entries under supervision.

  • Perform account reconciliations (e.g., cash, prepaid, fixed assets, accruals, credit cards) in a timely manner.

  • Assist in preparing monthly schedules to support the close process.

  • Support month-end and year-end close activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of deliverables.

  • Help compile data for budget vs. actual reviews and variance analysis.

  • Assist with internal and external audit requests by providing schedules, reconciliations, and documentation.

  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes as needed (invoice coding, vendor payments, customer billing).

  • Contribute to process improvements such as reporting templates, data consistency, and workflow efficiency.

  • Maintain accurate financial records in compliance with GAAP.

  • Perform other related accounting duties as assigned.

  • Demonstrate professionalism, strong communication, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

  • Maintain a positive and collaborative work environment.

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  • Able to lift up to 25 pounds independently; for items over 41 pounds, perform a two-person lift.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong interpersonal and customer service abilities.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and related software.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, v-lookups preferred).

  • Aptitude for numbers, accuracy, and analytical problem solving.

  • Basic knowledge of general ledger systems and accounting software.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from peers, managers, and other departments.

  • Skilled in gathering and analyzing information to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.

  • 1–2 years of accounting experience (corporate or public accounting). Internship experience will be considered.
