About the Role:
We’re seeking a detail-oriented Metallurgy Technician to support metallurgical testing and sample preparation. This is an entry-level–friendly role ideal for someone who is mechanically inclined, organized, and eager to learn in a laboratory environment. Training is available for candidates with strong aptitude and attention to process.
Job Duties

Prepare metallurgical samples including cutting, grinding, mounting, and polishing

Operate saws and other laboratory equipment for sample preparation

Perform metallurgical testing and evaluation such as:

Microhardness testing
-
Microstructural and macro-etching analysis
-
Coating and plating examinations
-
Grain size and case depth testing
-
Accurately document results and follow testing procedures
-
Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly laboratory workspace
-
Follow established processes and safety protocols
-
Assist with additional testing or lab tasks as directed
-
Support overtime as needed based on workload
Requirements
-
High school diploma required
-
Associate degree or coursework in metallurgy, mechanics, or related science preferred but not required

1–3 years of lab or related hands-on environment preferred
-
Strong mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity
-
High attention to detail and ability to follow processes precisely

Comfortable multitasking in a production or lab setting
-
Basic computer skills, including Excel and lab software

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
-
Willingness to learn and jump in where needed
