Material Handler – $25–$28/hr DOE
Location: Clackamas, OR
Pay: $25.00–$28.00 per hour, depending on experience
Employment Type: Full-Time, On-Site – 40 Hours Guaranteed
QB Fabrication & Welding, Inc. is a custom steel fabrication company serving the utility industry, specializing in transmission towers and substations. As the largest producer of steel lattice towers in the Pacific Northwest, the company is seeking an experienced Material Handler to support the safe and efficient movement of steel and other materials throughout its facility.
Job Description
The Material Handler will be responsible for material movement, inventory management, loading and unloading, order fulfillment, and maintaining an organized yard. This is a hands-on industrial position requiring experience operating large-capacity forklifts and safely handling heavy steel materials.
The Material Handler will work closely with the Senior Material Handler, shop floor leads, warehouse staff, and fabrication team to ensure materials are accurately tracked and available when needed for production.
Responsibilities
- Safely transport large steel beams and other materials throughout the yard using forklifts
- Operate heavy-capacity forklifts and specialized material handling equipment
- Load and unload trucks and trailers using proper lifting and securing procedures
- Verify incoming and outgoing shipments against purchase orders and shipping documents
- Perform inventory counts and investigate discrepancies
- Accurately document material receipts, transfers, and issuances
- Pick, stage, and prepare materials according to project requirements
- Prepare shipping documents, labels, and packing slips
- Maintain accurate inventory and warehouse management system records
- Properly store and label materials throughout the yard
- Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized yard
- Coordinate material movement with production, fabrication, and warehouse teams
- Assist with improving inventory tracking and yard organization processes
- Follow all company safety procedures while operating equipment and handling materials
Experience
- Previous material handling, warehouse, steel, or industrial experience required
- Strong forklift experience required
- Experience operating large-capacity forklifts strongly preferred
- Experience handling large or heavy materials, such as steel beams, preferred
- Experience loading and unloading trucks and trailers
- Shipping and receiving experience
- Inventory management and cycle counting experience
- Comfortable working with warehouse or inventory management systems
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to accurately follow shipping and material documentation
- Strong commitment to workplace and equipment safety
- Ability to communicate and work effectively with production and warehouse teams
Equipment experience with Caterpillar DP70, DP90, Drexel sideloaders, or similar heavy-capacity forklifts is highly preferred.

Monday: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Tuesday: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Wednesday: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Thursday: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Friday: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
40 hours per week guaranteed
