DESCRIPTION:
The Master Scheduler is responsible for developing, managing, and maintaining the master production schedule to ensure on-time delivery of parts, optimal use of resources, and alignment with customer demand. This role coordinates with production, engineering, and sales to balance capacity, materials, and lead times in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Develop and maintain the Master Production Schedule (MPS) based on demand forecasts, capacity constraints, and inventory.
2. Coordinate cross-functional inputs from Sales, Operations, and Engineering to align supply with demand.
3. Monitor and adjust schedules to respond to changes in demand, production issues, material shortages, or customer priorities.
4. Analyze capacity and resource availability, identifying and resolving scheduling conflicts.
5. Collaborate with the operations and sales team to ensure material availability aligns with production needs
6. Maintain data integrity within ERP/MRP/EPICORE systems.
7. Generate reports and metrics related to schedule adherence, forecast accuracy, and production performance.
8. Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities in planning and scheduling processes.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:
• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Operations Management, Business, Engineering, or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in production planning or scheduling in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of MRP/ERP/EPICORE systems and scheduling logic.
• Experience with lean manufacturing, just-in-time (JIT), and demand-driven scheduling preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with scheduling software and reporting tools.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a deadline-driven environment.
· Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Office-based with frequent interaction with the shop floor and warehouse.
• Occasional travel may be required between sites or to supplier locations.
