Position Overview
The Machine Operator Assistant supports machine operators with daily production tasks, maintains a clean and safe work area, and helps ensure products meet quality standards. The ideal candidate is dependable, hardworking, willing to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment, and able to work well as part of a team. A clean background and drug test is required.
Minimum Qualifications
- 1–2 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment is required.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to read work orders and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Basic math and measurement skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist machine operators with machine setup, changeovers, and production runs.
- Load and unload raw materials and finished products.
- Perform visual and basic quality inspections using measuring tools.
- Monitor product quality and immediately report defects or equipment issues.
- Package, label, stack, and prepare finished products for shipment.
- Remove scrap materials and maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Assist with preventive maintenance activities as directed.
- Complete accurate production and quality documentation.
- Follow all company safety policies, including lockout/tagout procedures.
- Work collaboratively with team members to meet production goals and minimize downtime.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for the duration of the shift.
- Lift up to 50 pounds.
- Push, pull, bend, twist, and reach throughout the workday.
- Comfortable working around industrial machinery and manufacturing equipment.
- Willingness to work overtime and different shifts as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in manufacturing or corrugated packaging.
- Forklift experience or willingness to become forklift certified.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
- Positive attitude and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
