Threading Operator
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Threading Operator to operate and set up screw threading machines. The ideal candidate will have experience with machine setups, print reading, measuring tools, and quality inspection. This position requires strong attention to detail, basic math skills, and the ability to follow manufacturing specifications and procedures.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Operate screw threading machines according to production specifications.
- Set up machines and adjust tool positions as required.
- Calculate machine and material requirements.
- Read and interpret blueprints, prints, and manufacturing specifications.
- Measure completed parts and compare measurements to specifications and prints.
- Prepare and maintain cutting tools, dies, and accessories.
- Load the feed mechanism by safely lifting and positioning stock.
- Verify machine settings by measuring produced parts and making necessary adjustments.
- Complete quality checks to ensure parts meet required specifications.
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment according to manufacturer instructions.
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and report issues as needed.
- Complete required manufacturing reports, forms, and production documentation.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow all company safety, quality, and production procedures.
Education Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Basic math skills required.
- Trade school or technical training is a plus.
Qualifications & Work Experience
- Previous experience with machine setups required.
- Experience reading blueprints, prints, and specifications.
- Ability to operate and accurately use various measuring tools.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to complete production reports, quality forms, and other manufacturing documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify quality issues.
- Ability to troubleshoot basic machine problems.
- Ability to work independently and follow established procedures.
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Experience with employee training and development.
- Experience with production and quality reporting.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards.
- Experience working in an ISO-certified manufacturing environment.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet production requirements.
