Machine Operator
Job Description
We are seeking a dependable and motivated Machine Operator to join our production team in Johnston, RI. This position offers hands-on training in machine operation, production, and quality inspection. The ideal candidate will have mechanical aptitude, a strong attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and grow within a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate cold heading press machinery according to production requirements.
- Ensure materials are available and properly prepared for production.
- Make basic mechanical adjustments to ensure parts meet required specifications.
- Monitor machinery and production processes to maintain quality and efficiency.
- Inspect finished parts using measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.
- Assist shop technicians and the materials clerk as needed.
- Identify and report equipment issues, defective products, or production concerns.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards.
- Perform additional production duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn machine operation.
- Ability to use basic hand tools and measuring equipment, or willingness to be trained.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand or work throughout an 8-hour shift.
- Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
- Ability to work independently, follow instructions, and take initiative.
- Commitment to workplace safety, organization, and reliability.
- Previous manufacturing or machine operating experience is a plus but not required.
