Job Full Description
Express Employment Professionals is seeking a reliable and experienced Electrician to join a local sign installation and service team. This is a great opportunity for an electrician looking for long-term growth, including company-paid CDL training and support toward a Journeyman license.
Job Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, and systems in accordance with NEC codes
- Perform high-voltage and low-voltage electrical installations, including LED sign lighting and control systems
- Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues using multimeters, voltmeters, ohmmeters, and related tools
- Install meter bases, load centers, and commercial sign power systems
- Wire ballasts, transformers, and other lighting components for illuminated signage
- Read and interpret blueprints and wiring diagrams
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites
- Follow all OSHA and company safety standards, including work at heights and around power sources
Requirements
- Proven experience working as an Electrician (sign industry experience preferred, but not required)
- Strong understanding of NEC codes and electrical safety practices
- Experience with both high- and low-voltage systems
- Comfortable working outdoors and at heights using ladders or lifts
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Valid driver’s license (CDL not required at hire)
- Reliable transportation and strong work ethic
Licensing & Growth Opportunities
- CDL-B is NOT required to start
- The company offers a paid CDL training program once the employee is established and able to work independently
- Journeyman Electrician license is a long-term goal
- The company will cover the cost of Journeyman licensing for the right candidate
- Candidates who already hold a Journeyman license will be considered at a substantially higher pay rate
