Machinist
A company in North Fort Worth is looking for an experienced Manual Machinist to join their team.
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM
Pay: $22-27/hr
Job Duties
- Machine and modify parts needed for production and assembly
- Operate manual engine lathes, radial drill presses, surface grinders and other manual machining equipment
- Fabricate and modify tooling
- Perform thread tapping and center-forming
- Work from drawings, measurements and tolerances
- Use calipers, micrometers, dial indicators and thread gauges
- Work with both metric and standard measurements
- Handle large parts using cranes and forklifts
- Support assembly, disassembly and gear grinding operations
Requirements
- Previous manual machining experience
- Experience with manual lathes, drill presses and surface grinders
- Able to work within tolerances as tight as 0.0005" / 0.010 mm
- Strong understanding of GD&T
- Able to read metric drawings and tolerances
- Experience using precision measuring tools
- Comfortable machining large parts
- Crane and forklift experience
- Strong mechanical background
- Gear or gearbox experience is a plus
- Associate degree, bachelor's degree or comparable industry experience
Physical Requirements
- Able to stand for extended periods
- Able to lift up to 75 lbs.
