Journeyman Electrician
Shift: Flexible Day Shift, depending on workload
Pay: $30-$40
Position Summary
We are seeking a Journeyman Electrician with an EL-01 Washington license (or equivalent certification in another jurisdiction) and proven experience (“01 or equal on the books”) to join our team. The successful candidate will work independently and as part of a crew on new construction, remodels, service work, and maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair wiring, conduits, lighting, panelboards, motor controls, switches, outlets, etc.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams
- Troubleshoot electrical issues and perform diagnostic testing
- Ensure all work meets NEC, state, and local codes
- Oversee and mentor apprentices or helpers as needed
- Coordinate with project managers, general contractors, and other trades
- Maintain clean, safe work sites, and properly document work progress
- Work overtime, nights, or weekends when necessary
Qualifications / Requirements
- Valid Washington State EL-01 Journeyman Electrician license, or equivalent license from another state recognized in WA
- “On the books” experience — i.e. documented, verifiable electrical work history
- Solid understanding of electrical codes (NEC / Washington / local)
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and electrical schematics
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Reliable, punctual, self-motivated, and able to work independently or in a team
- Good communication skills
- Willingness to travel locally for job sites
Preferred / Bonus Qualifications
- Experience in industrial, commercial, or heavy industrial electrical work
- Experience with motor controls, PLCs, VFDs
- Supervisory or foreman experience
- Additional certifications (e.g. low voltage, instrumentation)
- OSHA 10 or 30 card
