Job Title: Paint Technician
Shift: Day Shift
Pay Rate: $21.00/hour
Position Summary
The Paint Technician prepares, primes, and paints transformer units according to production requirements and quality standards. This position requires attention to detail, safe work habits, and the ability to perform efficiently in a fast-paced industrial environment with exposure to chemicals, heat, cold, and paint fumes.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare units through cleaning, sanding, masking, and priming.

Apply paint using spray equipment following specifications and quality criteria.

Inspect units before and after painting to ensure compliance with safety and visual standards.

Maintain spray guns, mixers, respirators, and related equipment.

Keep workstations clean, organized, and free of hazards.

Follow all safety procedures, including PPE and respirator requirements.

Report defects, equipment problems, or safety concerns to the supervisor.
Work Environment
Industrial setting with exposure to chemicals, heat, cold, and paint fumes.
Fast-paced production environment requiring focus, endurance, and strong situational awareness.

Equipment Used
Spray guns, paint mixers, air/tack cloths, respirators, forklifts or cranes (occasional), and basic hand tools.
Physical Requirements

Lift 50 lbs repeatedly.

Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and ladder climbing.

Must pass a respiratory fit test and use required PPE (respirator, gloves, safety glasses, etc.).

Ability to work in hot and cold manufacturing conditions.
Dress Code
Required PPE: respirator, gloves, safety glasses, and possibly coveralls.
Steel-toe boots likely required.
