Shop Foreman
Our team is recruiting an experienced Shop Foreman on behalf of a respected client in the medium–heavy duty truck service and equipment industry. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with daily leadership responsibilities, making it an excellent opportunity for a seasoned technician ready to step into a lead position.
Position Overview
The Shop Foreman will oversee day-to-day shop operations while supporting, guiding, and developing a team of Service Technicians. This includes managing workflow, job assignments, scheduling, and quality control, as well as performing full-service technician duties as needed. The ideal candidate is a steady, detail-driven leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and leads by example.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee daily shop operations, schedule workflow, and assign jobs to technicians
• Motivate the team, maintain productivity, and ensure on-time, efficient job completion
• Lead, train, coach, and support Service Technicians
• Perform and supervise quality control checks on all completed work
• Keep the Service Manager informed of shop needs, progress, and issues
• Assist with technician time entry and ensure accurate notes and comments in Treqso
• Support technicians by identifying and resolving missing parts or delays
• Maintain a clean, safe, organized shop environment and uphold safety standards
• Communicate clearly with customers regarding repair status and timelines
• Perform full hands-on technical work, including diagnostics and repair of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems
• Fabricate, weld, cut, form, and lay out metal (10-gauge to 1") as part of custom work
• Complete liftgate, PTO, air compressor, and crane-related work as required
• Interpret and follow build specifications with precision
• Use required hand tools, power tools, shop machinery, welding equipment, and diagnostic tools
