Paralegal
$23-$27/hr DOE
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Paralegal to join a busy legal team. This position plays an essential role in supporting attorneys through every stage of the legal process, including client management, case preparation, drafting legal documents, discovery, court coordination, and administrative support. The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator with strong writing skills and prior legal experience who thrives in a fast-paced professional environment.

Duties:
Client & Case Management
- Conduct client intake and open new client files
- Set up client files, perform conflict checks, and prepare engagement agreements
- Maintain regular communication with clients throughout the life of each case
- Coordinate with attorneys regarding case progress and client needs
- Communicate with outside counsel as necessary
Drafting & Legal Documents
- Draft correspondence, pleadings, and discovery documents for attorney review
- Assist attorneys with employee handbooks, employment agreements, and other employment-related legal documents
- Prepare legal documents with accuracy and attention to detail
Discovery & Depositions
- Work directly with clients to gather information for discovery and case preparation
- Coordinate and schedule depositions
- Attend depositions alongside attorneys as needed
Court & Scheduling
- Schedule court hearings and manage court-related communications
- File legal documents with the court
- Attend hearings and trials with attorneys when required
- Maintain court calendars and monitor important deadlines
Administrative Responsibilities
- Process incoming mail and correspondence
- Maintain attorney calendars, appointments, and court deadlines
- Enter billable time and expenses into the firm's billing system
- Perform additional administrative duties to support daily office operations
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience as a Paralegal or Legal Assistant
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Professional demeanor and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal document preparation
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with attorneys and staff
Preferred Qualifications
- Notary Public certification
- Certification to present agreed orders in ex parte proceedings
- Experience with employment law is a plus
Work Environment
- Professional office environment
- Collaborative legal team with frequent interaction with attorneys, clients, courts, and outside counsel
- Fast-paced setting requiring excellent time management and organization
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged sitting and computer use
- Frequent use of a keyboard, telephone, and standard office equipment
- Occasional walking, standing, and lifting of legal files or office materials
