Equipment Operator (Entry-Level) – Scrap Metal Recycling
Location: Madison, WI (East Side)
Pay: $20.00–$24.00/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
About the Opportunity
Express Employment Professionals is hiring an Entry-Level Equipment Operator for a well-established scrap metal recycling facility on Madison's east side. This company is a leading recycler of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, serving industrial customers and salvage operations across the country.
This is a long-term opportunity with room to grow. You'll begin by assisting with material handling and general yard operations while receiving training to advance into equipment operation.

Job Responsibilities
- Inspect equipment before use to ensure safe operation.
- Assist with loading, unloading, and moving scrap metal materials.
- Operate a forklift and other equipment as training and experience allow.
- Perform basic equipment inspections and routine maintenance checks.
- Help maintain an organized and efficient yard.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Previous forklift experience is preferred.
- Experience around heavy equipment or in an industrial environment is a plus.
- Ability to lift 30–50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Strong work ethic, attention to safety, and willingness to learn.
