Warehouse Yard Material Handler
We are currently hiring for a Warehouse Yard Material Handler in Cottage Grove! Our client rents equipment such as generators, racking, and other equipment to local contractors. This is a hands-on position with most of the work taking place outdoors in the yard, with a heated shop available for breaks.
The ideal candidate is comfortable working outside, enjoys physical work, and can safely operate a forklift and handle equipment. Previous forklift experience is a major plus!
Pay: $18-$20/hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00am-4:30pm
Location: Cottage Grove, WI
Responsibilities:
- Pull and prepare customer orders using a forklift and other equipment
- Process equipment returns by checking items in, cleaning them, and inspecting for damage or maintenance needs
- Manually check and maintain inventory by locating equipment throughout the yard
- Load, unload, move, and organize equipment and materials throughout the yard
- Assist customers with equipment pickups and returns and provide friendly customer service
- Maintain a clean and organized yard and shop area
- Perform other general warehouse and equipment duties as needed
Requirements:
- Previous forklift experience is strongly preferred
- Previous warehouse, yard, equipment rental, construction, or material handling experience is a plus
- Comfortable working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
- Able to safely lift, move, and handle equipment and materials
- Dependable and comfortable working independently
- Customer service skills and a professional attitude
