Job Full Description
Hours: Monday - Thursday, 6:30am - 4:30pm
Pay: $19.00 - $21.00/HR
Duties:
- Grind, sand, deburr, polish, and finish metal parts using hand tools and power tools.
- Remove sharp edges, weld spatter, scratches, burrs, and other surface imperfections to meet quality standards.
- Inspect finished parts visually and physically to identify defects such as dents, scratches, cracks, or uneven surfaces.
- Verify that finished products meet customer, engineering, and production requirements before moving to the next stage of manufacturing.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, work orders, and production instructions to determine finishing requirements.
- Operate grinders, sanders, polishers, and other finishing equipment safely and effectively.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Clean, inspect, and properly store tools and equipment after use.
- Work closely with production, welding, and fabrication teams to ensure quality and on-time completion of work.
- Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards.
Qualifications:
- Previous metal finishing, grinding, polishing, fabrication, welding support, or manufacturing experience preferred.
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, grinders, sanders, and polishing equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality finished products.
- Ability to identify surface defects and perform corrective finishing work.
- Ability to work efficiently while maintaining quality standards and production deadlines.
- Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, often 8+ hours per shift.
- Ability to frequently bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push, pull, and handle metal components throughout the day.
- Ability to use hand, arm, and shoulder strength for repetitive finishing tasks.
