Job Full Description
Hours: Monday - Friday, 6:00am - 2:30pm
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00/HR
Duties:
- Perform metal finishing operations including grinding, sanding, body filling (mudding), shaping, and surface preparation on automotive and specialty vehicle components.
- Prepare metal surfaces for paint by removing imperfections, smoothing welds, and ensuring proper surface quality.
- Inspect finished components to verify they meet quality, appearance, and dimensional standards.
- Use hand tools, power tools, grinders, sanders, and finishing equipment to achieve high-quality results.
- Identify and correct surface defects such as scratches, dents, pinholes, weld marks, and other imperfections.
- Follow work instructions, repair procedures, blueprints, and production specifications.
- Collaborate with fabrication, welding, body, paint, and production teams to ensure seamless workflow.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Meet production schedules while maintaining exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail.
- Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year of auto body, collision repair, metal finishing, grinding, sanding, or body filler experience required.
- Experience with body work techniques including grinding, sanding, mudding, filling, and surface preparation.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality finished products.
- Ability to identify defects and perform corrective finishing work.
- Comfortable working with hand tools, power tools, grinders, sanders, and finishing equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing or auto body environment.
- Pride in craftsmanship and producing flawless finished products.
