Job Full Description

The primary purpose of this position is to be responsible for the day-to-day activities in the manufacturing plant as it pertains
to product formulations and optimization, environmental, chemical communication, SOP creation review and maintenance,
shared ISO 9001 & GMP compliance and administrative functions. This position is also responsible for the creation and
introduction of new products review and optimization of current products and oversee processes
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
§ Assure departmental compliance to Company SOP’s and Good Manufacturing Practices.
§ Responsible for maintaining, documenting and enhancing the company’s ISO: 9001:2015 certification as it relates
to chemical production.
§ Responsible for maintaining, creating, training and enhancing the company’s SOPs.
§ Suggest process changes to improve production efficiency.
§ Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities for current formulations.
§ Facilitate the development and introduction of new products.
§ Provide sales support for new opportunities.
§ Works with production and ISO team to ensure safety, regulatory, and compliance training is conducted to meet
company and Regulatory agency requirements as it relates to chemical engineering.
§ Active team member to help support any long-term growth strategies.
§ Uphold Company Standard of Excellence through a continuous commitment to maintain quality facilities and
equipment and provide quality products and services to internal and external customers.
§ Provide quality assurance procedures and develop and oversee the necessary documentation.
§ Establish and maintain environmental sustainability practices and guidelines.
§ Perform all duties outlined in relevant SOPs and all other duties to be assigned.
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES
§ Support the overall Strategic Plan effort and goals for the entire facility, cost reduction, quality, etc.
§ Project development and management.
§ Chemical Engineering and management
§ Develop new and enhance existing product SOPs, as needed.
§ Works with other staff members to maintain workload balances. Provides back-up support as necessary.
§ Supports effective communication with all Pacific Sands key personnel where responsibilities overlap to ensure
success of the team.
REPORTING STRUCTURE
§ This position reports to the President & CEO
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL CRITERIA
§ A bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred or a minimum of 5 years’ experience in chemical engineering and
manufacturing.
§ Prior FDA/EPA product manufacturing experience required.
§ Must have communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to read, write, and speak English.
