2nd Shift Quality Engineering Technician
Are you a self-motivated and experienced quality engineering technician with a passion for driving excellence in manufacturing? We're looking for an independent problem-solver who thrives on making data-driven decisions within an ISO 9001 environment. If you're ready to advance scrap-reduction projects, respond directly to customer complaints, and lead investigations of nonconforming products, we want you on our dynamic Quality Team!
Please note: This is not a quality control inspector role. We are seeking a proactive quality engineering technician.
Your Role
As a Quality Engineering Technician you'll be pivotal in ensuring the highest quality of our industrial processes, materials, and products. You'll contribute to our Quality Team by

Planning and conducting comprehensive analysis, inspection, testing, and integration to guarantee product and component quality.

Utilizing Statistical Process Control (SPC) methods to evaluate processes and implement efficient changes.

Rigorously documenting data in alignment with company policies and procedures.

Innovating and developing new approaches to address challenges identified during quality assurance activities.

Communicating impactful issues or developments and proposing process improvements.

Preparing and presenting insightful technical reports and program information.

Monitoring, analyzing, and strategically reducing scrap through process improvements.
What You Bring
To excel in this role, you should possess:
-
A solid mechanical aptitude and proficiency in basic statistical techniques and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
-
Proven experience interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints.
-
Competence in an ERP computer environment, preferably SAP.
-
Experience with quality management systems in an ISO 9001/17025 environment.

Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and proficiency in other Microsoft applications.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, coupled with integrity and professionalism.

Experience leading or participating in Six Sigma projects.
-
The ability to lift, push, and pull 50 lbs. regularly and comfort working in varied temperature environments (around molten metal).
Your Background
-
A 2-year technical school degree in a STEM or related field, or military equivalent.

At least 2 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.

Independent problem-solving skills and proven data-driven decision-making experience.

Demonstrated experience with root cause analysis and corrective action, including independently driving investigations and dispositioning processes of nonconforming products.

Experience responding directly to customer complaints.

A track record of scrap reduction in manufacturing processes.
-
Desired certifications include Six Sigma Yellow Belt or ASQ Certified Quality Technician.
Schedule & Compensation
-
Full-Time, 2nd Shift Schedule: We offer several flexible options for start/end times and days based on your preference (e.g., 4x10-hour shifts or 5x8-hour shifts).

Training: Initial training will be on a split shift.

Pay Rate: $25.00/hour plus a 10% 2nd shift premium.
