Injection Mold Maintenance Technician (#8863)
Hartland, WI 53029
1st shift: 6am - 4:30pm | Monday - Thursday
$25/hour (Based on Experience
Core Responsibilities
•Dedicated mold maintenance position focused on bench work and repair; it does not involve setting molds into the presses.
•Perform regular inspections and maintain/repair molds as necessary to ensure minimal downtime and optimal performance.
•Disassemble, clean, polish inspect, basic repair and reassembly of molds.
•Change inserts, slides, and mold components for production.
•Diagnose and repair Hot Runner and valve gate systems, electrical controls, and hydraulic components (cylinders/manifolds).
•Precision Repair: Execute fine-tolerance bench work and component restoration using Laser Welding and manual machining (milling, grinding, turning).
•Bench test for water leaks and assess electrical for any issues.
•Maintain consistent and effective component cleaning and storage.
•Develop and manage proactive Preventive Maintenance schedules to maximize tool life and prevent catastrophic failures.
•Maintain accurate records of all mold repairs, maintenance activities and improvements made.
•Monitors proper inventory levels of replacement spare parts.
Qualifications
•2+ years direct maintenance experience in an injection molding manufacturing environment maintaining/repairing molds.
•Hot Runner and valve gate systems ability.
•Skilled in forklift and overhead crane rigging for heavy mold transport.
•Able to set up and operate standard conventional machining equipment using drill press, surface grinder, milling machine and turning lathe without supervision.
•Mechanical aptitude is required.
