Job Full Description
Job Title: CNC Turning Technical Lead
Supervision Exercised:
Oversight of CNC Operators running machines using his/her Set ups.
Acting as vendor liaison for new Lathe department tooling.
Training operators and/or new lathe employees.
Qualifications & Skills:
? Proficiency using micrometers, calipers and other common shop measuring tools.
? Proficiency reading and understanding G-Code and the ability to edit it at the machine using
Fanuc based control.
? Ability to read and interpret blue prints and work instructions.
? Ability to do basic math and an understanding of x, y, z coordinates and geometry.
? Manual dexterity to deburr parts as required.
? Troubleshooting skills to solve problems at the machine. Attention to detail to anticipate
potential problems or non-conformities.
? Must understand properties of materials and have knowledge of the appropriate cutting tools to
be used to machine them.
? Understand what machining techniques are required to achieve required results to optimize
material removal, feature precision, and tool life.
? Strong knowledge of turning inserts a plus.
Education / Experience
? High School Diploma or equivalent
? Minimum 5 years as CNC Lathe Machinist; Specifically experienced with CNC Mill-Turn &
MasterCAM.
? Good Computer literacy.
- Payrate up to $45 per hour
