A west coast company located in Martinez, CA providing electrical and instrumentation specialty to the energy sector customers located in Contra Costa County. Their customers include restricted access facilities such as refineries, power generation facilities, chemical plants, etc.

 

Is looking to add an additional Paralegal/Administrative Legal Specialist/Paralegal Specialist to join their team. The Industrial Electrical Facilities Paralegal plays a crucial role in supporting legal and operational activities within the organization, specializing in electrical facilities. The individual will be responsible for reviewing and managing contracts, ensuring legal compliance, assisting with regulatory issues, and providing research support in areas related to industrial electrical systems. This position requires a combination of legal expertise and a foundational understanding of the industrial electrical sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contract Review and Drafting: Review and analyze contracts related to electrical facility operations to ensure compliance with industry standards, legal regulations, and corporate policies.
  • Legal Documentation: Prepare and maintain legal documentation, including contracts, agreements, and compliance reports, related to electrical facility operations.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Assist in ensuring that all electrical facilities are compliant with local, state, and federal regulations, particularly in relation to safety, environmental, and operational laws.
  • Legal Research: Conduct legal research on matters related to industrial electrical systems, including emerging regulations, industry trends, and case law.
  • Support for Litigation: Provide legal support during any litigation or dispute resolution related to electrical facilities, including preparing evidence and assisting in the preparation of legal filings.
  • Collaboration with Stakeholders: Work closely with engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure the legal requirements are integrated into facility operations and projects.
  • Regulatory Reporting: Assist in the preparation of regulatory filings and reports to governmental bodies to ensure compliance with industry standards and legal requirements.
  • Contract Negotiation Support: Provide support in negotiations for contracts with external vendors, contractors, and service providers related to electrical facilities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience as a paralegal, with at least 1 year of experience in contract law or the industrial sector, preferably in the electrical industry.
  • Certifications: Paralegal certification from an accredited program is preferred.
  • Industry Knowledge: Basic understanding of industrial electrical systems, safety standards, and relevant regulations.
  • Legal Proficiency: Strong knowledge of contract law, legal research techniques, and compliance regulations within the industrial sector.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to handle complex legal documentation.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and contract management software.
  • Ability to communicate legal concepts clearly to non-legal stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate complex legal and technical issues.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience working within a legal department of an industrial company or electrical engineering firm.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations and occupational safety laws related to industrial electrical facilities.
  • Familiarity with project management processes in an industrial setting.

PAY RANGE $30-35/HR
