Express Employment Professionals is hiring on behalf of a construction industry client in Brentwood for a Billing & Collections Specialist.
Responsibilities:
Billing & Collections Specialist
Full-Time | $27–$32/hour
We are seeking a detail-oriented Billing & Collections Specialist to manage project invoicing and accounts receivable while ensuring contract compliance and consistent project cash flow. The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of A/R experience, preferably in the construction industry.
Experience with AIA billing, California lien releases/waivers, and knowledge of CA collection laws is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
Billing

Prepare progress billings, change orders, and final invoices

Review contracts (AIA), work orders, and subcontracts for accuracy

Coordinate with project managers, clients, and accounting to resolve discrepancies

Maintain organized billing and A/R records
Collections
-
Monitor aging reports and follow up on past-due accounts

Communicate with clients regarding outstanding balances
-
Negotiate payment plans and resolve disputes
-
Document collection activity and provide status updates
-
Process payments and send monthly statements
Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent
-
Construction billing/collections experience

Knowledge of AIA billing and lien waiver procedures

Strong organization, attention to detail, and time management

Ability to multitask and work independently

Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Must pass pre-employment drug and background screening
Schedule & Benefits

Full-time, Monday–Friday (40+ hours, overtime as needed)
