Job Full Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Human Resources Manager will build overall organizational capability. They will be expected to drive and implement HR initiatives to increase organizational effectiveness, build capability and talent of the workforce, and lead strategy and tactics to positively impact overall business performance and HR metrics. The overall objective is decrease the gap between the field and the office.

  • Provide Temporary Staffing Assignment Services to Client
    • Services: recruit, screen, hire, place, manage, educate, train, discharge, discipline
    • Typical positions staffed: hand sorter, packer, custodian, quality control, machine operator, palletizer, sanitation, forklift driver, admin clerk
    • 3 job sites, 3 shifts, 24/7/365 operating hours, 550-950 headcount range, peak season is August-October
  • Customer relations and customer service
  • Manage, Train, Audit, and Lead On-Site Team
    • On-Site Team consists of recruiters, human resource generalists, safety coordinators, and administrative support staff
    • Manage annual performance and development review process
    • Lead and track employee professional development and training
  • Manage, Improve, and Audit Processes
    • Recruiting, onboarding, attendance tracking, adherence to workplace policies, establishing a positive workplace culture, addressing employee challenges, leaves of absence, investigations, accident reporting, disciplining, discharging, etc.
  • Build and maintain robust audit system for all required documentation
  • Ensure adherence to employee handbook policies
  • Weekly and quarterly performance reporting to main office management team and client
  • Lead employee engagement activities
    • Weekly staff meetings, quarterly employee meetings, annual employee trainings, etc.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively across all platforms with employees, internal staff, client, and owners
  • Develop and maintain an inclusive and diverse work culture; create opportunities for staff and employees to provide input
  • Other responsibilities as assigned
Requirements

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

Requirements:

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English, able to communicate fluently in both languages.
  • Valid CA drivers'' license with the ability to drive and operate a company vehicle

Qualifications:

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • PHR or SHRM preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in the HR field or similar
  • 5+ years of experience in Management
  • Knowledge of California Employment Law and Cal-OSHA regulations
  • MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Adobe Acrobat Pro

 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource or equivalent Education plus experience

Physical Requirements and Work Conditions:

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards. 
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
  • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone
  • Must be able to sit for short periods of time traveling from site to site
  • Must be able to drive company vehicle and get in/out of vehicle frequently throughout the day
  • Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions
