DIRECT HIRE POSITION
Maintenance Mechanic II 3rd shift
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintains facilities and processing equipment in operating condition.
- Must be able to troubleshoot and diagnose systems and equipment to minimize downtime and correct deficiencies in an expeditious manner.
- Install and maintain production equipment.
- Follow maintenance SOPs
- Create work orders in DAX for parts needed on equipment
- Attend regular pass-down meetings at the beginning and end of shift to communicate issues to ensure follow-up and closure of jobs.
- Follow all safety procedures to ensure a safe workplace. Maintains the maintenance department and your maintenance workspace in clean, sanitary, and presentable condition at all times.
- Work with other Maintenance Technicians in a team environment to address maintenance assignments and troubleshoot issues.
- Assist in the training of new Maintenance Technicians.
- Responsible for the completion of the prescheduled workload to have equipment ready for production.
- Understands at all times current daily business objective, completes documentation as required and actively participates in information transfer at shift meetings.
- Promptly respond to any equipment breakdowns or downtime when applicable.
- Respond to maintenance emergency conditions in order to minimize downtime,
- Must have working knowledge and understanding of electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, steam, plumbing, and refrigeration systems.
- Installation, preventative maintenance, and repairs of all plant equipment, wastewater equipment, and building structures.
- The ability to read and understand equipment manuals, schematics, electrical drawings, and process drawings.
- Participate in capital improvement and infrastructure projects.
- Assist in fabrication or modification of equipment to company specs and standards.
- Assist in the installation of new or used equipment.
- Responsible for repairs of buildings and all plant equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance, PM’s for critical equipment, and major repairs during weekend-planned shutdowns.
- Responsible for the care and maintenance of company tools.
- Handle multiple projects simultaneously to completion
- Must have the ability to get along with co-workers, management personnel, customers, vendors, and employees in accordance with the company policies and working rules while ensuring a harmonious and conducive work environment.
- Maintain a positive attitude and contribute toward a quality environment.
- Excellent regular full-time attendance in support of company objectives.
- Use initiative and judgment in making decisions, keeping with the Company's best interests.
- Participate in departmental and plant wide safety tailgate and food safety training
- Follow Maintenance GMP’s, safety rules and regulations.
- The wearing of personal protective equipment is required
- Responsible for participating in and implementing continuous improvement.
- Follow Company policies and procedures to ensure food safety per FSSC 22000.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
Knowledge of process and equipment as well as but not limited to the following:
- Electrical Knowledge
- Welding
- Pumps
- Ancillary Equipment such as conveyors, motors, and gearboxes, etc.
