Job Title: Safety Program Manager – Construction
Location: Hanford, CA (Travel throughout the Central Valley required)
Full-Time | $65,000–$80,000/year +| Salaried Position
About the Role - Safety Manager
We’re looking for a proactive Safety Program Manager to lead the charge in keeping our construction sites safe, compliant, and efficient. You'll be the boots-on-the-ground (and hard hat on the head) champion of all things safety—from OSHA compliance to jobsite inspections and training programs. This position plays a mission-critical role in establishing and managing our Safety Program across multiple job sites in California’s Central Valley. You’ll report directly to the Managing Director and work closely with project management to implement best practices in a dynamic, heavy construction environment.
What You’ll Be Doing - Safety Manager
Program Management & Compliance
- Develop, implement, and manage a company-wide OSHA-compliant Safety Program.
- Track and submit incident reports in compliance with OSHA and Workers' Compensation requirements.
- Monitor safety metrics such as EMR, TRIR, and DART.
Field Safety Oversight
- Conduct daily site inspections and enforce safety compliance.
- Review and file Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs).
- Document and report violations directly to senior leadership.
Training & Development
- Lead formal and informal safety training programs.
- Manage certifications (e.g., OSHA-10, OSHA-30, Heavy Equipment Ops, Competent Person).
- Deliver weekly toolbox talks and keep safety top of mind.
Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain accurate, audit-ready records.
- Support incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective actions.
- Serve as the point of contact for all client and subcontractor safety-related communication.
What You Bring
- 2+ years of experience as a Safety Specialist (construction background preferred).
- Strong knowledge of CAL OSHA, NEC code, and industry best practices.
- Current and valid driver’s license (except for 50% travel from Merced to Bakersfield).
- Ability to thrive in outdoor, hands-on construction environments.
- Self-starter mentality with clear communication and documentation skills.
What You Need to Have
- Experience with solar/PV system builds.
- Familiarity with Safety & Health management software/tools.
- Previous experience supporting rapid company growth and scaling a team.
- OSHA 500/501 Certification is a must.
Perks & Pay
Salary: $65,000–$80,000/year (based on experience and market rates)
Hours: M–F 8 AM–4 PM (expect occasional flexibility for site visits)
Mileage reimbursement for job site travel
