Oversee accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and general ledger operations

Supervise finance team; ensure accurate accounting systems and procedures

Maintain GAAP and regulatory compliance, implement strong internal controls

Prepare monthly financial statements and reports for management and Board

Track grant budgets and compliance with funder requirements

Support annual budget creation; monitor fiscal performance

Manage fixed assets and capital expenditure tracking

Maintain cost accounting systems and respond to financial inquiries

Lead audit coordination and tax filings

Handle retirement plan administration, payroll compliance

Ensure current insurance coverage documentation

Update and maintain the Fiscal Procedures Manual

Monitor revenue/expenditure variances; coordinate with leadership

Collaborate on regulatory/contract financial reporting

Provide financial analysis for planning and decision support

Oversee agency leases and documentation

Assist with proposals/reporting as needed

Represent finance at internal meetings

Additional tasks as directed by the Executive Director

Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field (Master’s or CPA preferred)

5+ years of progressive nonprofit accounting/financial management, ideally overseeing $10M+ budgets with multiple funding streams (e.g., grants, Medi-Cal)

Strong grasp of GAAP, nonprofit fund accounting, restricted funds

Proficiency in budgeting, reporting, audits, and establishing internal controls

Tech-savvy: Excel expert and fast learner of accounting systems; Sage Intacct experience preferred

Sharp analytical, organizational, and communication skills (with non-finance stakeholders too)

Grant compliance and audit/reporting experience

Ethical, mission-aligned financial stewardship

Must be reachable by cell for urgent fiscal matters—even outside regular hours occasionally
