Express Employment Professionals is seeking an Electronic and Switchboard Assembler! The Electronic Switchboard Assembler is responsible for assembling, wiring, and testing electrical panels, control cabinets, and switchboards. This role involves reading schematics, working with hand tools, and ensuring all assemblies meet quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assembly & Wiring:
    • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams to assemble switchboards and electronic components.
    • Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, terminals, and other electrical components.
    • Route and bundle wires neatly and securely according to specifications.
  • Component Installation:
    • Mount and secure electronic components, such as relays, circuit boards, fuses, and power supplies, within enclosures.
    • Ensure proper placement and alignment of parts using tools such as drills, screwdrivers, and crimpers.
  • Testing & Quality Control:
    • Perform continuity and functional tests on completed assemblies to verify proper operation.
    • Troubleshoot and repair defective or improperly installed components.
    • Follow company and industry standards to maintain high-quality assembly work.
  • Safety & Compliance:
    • Adhere to all electrical and safety codes, including OSHA and company-specific guidelines.
    • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintain a clean work environment.
    • Ensure all work complies with electrical and industry standards.
  • Documentation & Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate records of assembly work, test results, and any issues encountered.
    • Report production status and any material shortages to supervisors.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience with electrical assembly, wiring, and switchboard components.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with small components.
  • Understanding of electrical safety protocols and standards.
  • Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in switchboard or control panel assembly.
  • Electrical or mechanical certification or training.
  • Familiarity with IPC or UL standards.
