Job Full Description
Express Employment Professionals is currently hiring for an Accountant with a CPA with a great Family-Owned Flooring company located in the Sarasota, FL area.
Duties Include:
- Oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and banking activities.
- Manage job costing and ensure accurate tracking of labor, materials, and subcontractor costs across multiple flooring projects.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
- Collaborate with project managers to create and monitor budgets, forecasts, and performance metrics.
- Manage vendor relationships and ensure timely payment and reconciliation.
- Assist with tax preparation, audits, and financial reviews.
- Improve internal accounting processes and implement system upgrades or process automation as needed.
Requirements:
- CPA certification (within the last 5 years) required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in the construction or flooring industry.
- Strong knowledge of job costing, WIP schedules, and revenue recognition methods.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, and Sage 300.
- Ability to analyze complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
