Express Employment Professionals of Bradenton, FL is currently hiring for a Risk Safety and Liability Manager in the Bradenton, FL area.
The Risk Safety & Liability Manager is a highly responsible administrative and technical leadership role focused on Risk Safety & Liability program. Under general direction, this position develops and manages strategies to identify, mitigate, and prevent risks and liabilities related to operations. It oversees claims, insurance, safety training, and loss control programs. This role also requires collaboration with executive leadership and various departments to ensure comprehensive and compliant risk management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
-Develop, implement, and evaluate programs to minimize risk exposure across all departments.
-Supervise the claims management process for workers’ compensation, general liability, and auto liability.
-Manage property and casualty insurance programs, including self-insurance and third-party coverage.
-Monitor and recommend updates to insurance coverage in response to market trends and needs.
-Lead contract risk reviews, including insurance and indemnity provisions; participate in vendor/TPA negotiations.
-Investigate claims, oversee litigation support, and coordinate settlements.
-Develop safety and loss control programs and ensure citywide compliance with OSHA and other safety regulations.
-Advise leadership and departments on risk, insurance, and safety concerns; provide related training and reporting.
-Manage and coordinate disaster mitigation and recovery planning.
-Serve as custodian of all insurance-related records; provide expert testimony if necessary.
-Design and coordinate safety training programs on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
-Represent at insurance, risk, and safety-related meetings, seminars, and workshops.
-Analyze risk-related policies, recommend improvements, and monitor compliance.
-Perform related administrative, investigative, and managerial duties as required.
Skills and Abilities Required
-Strong leadership, project management, and decision-making skills.
-Thorough knowledge of risk management, safety, insurance, and claims administration.
-Ability to conduct and document complex claims investigations.
-Knowledge of federal, state, and local risk, insurance, and safety laws and regulations.
-Ability to interpret policy, apply legal/risk principles, and recommend sound strategies.
-Proficient written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and presentations.
-Ability to build effective relationships with employees, vendors, officials, and the public.
-Competence in budgeting and fiscal management.
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office; knowledge of MUNIS ERP or other asset management software preferred.
Education and Experience Requirements
Required:
-Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field
-Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in risk management, claims, liability, or safety administration (preferably in the public sector)
Preferred:
-Florida experience
-Active Claims Adjuster License
-ARM, ARM-P, or CPCU designation
-An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered at the discretion of the Administrator.
Licensing and Certifications
-Must possess or obtain a valid Florida Driver License within 30 days of residency and maintain it thereafter.
Working Conditions
-Primarily office-based, with occasional outdoor work during investigations or site visits.
Essential position requiring availability during emergencies, including hurricanes and other incidents.
