Are you ready to take the helm in a fast-paced chemical manufacturing environment? As a Chemical Operator, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the safe and efficient production of high-quality antifoams and defoamers—critical components in industries worldwide.
Job Location: Laurens, South Carolina
Compensation: $18.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday – Friday - shifts are variable with the typical shift being 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM (May have to work past 6:00 PM and work some Saturdays) Great opportunity for overtime.
What You’ll Do:
- Operate and monitor chemical processing equipment to maintain smooth and safe production.
- Ensure safety and quality by strictly following protocols, standards, and operational procedures.
- Monitor and adjust process parameters like temperature, pressure, and flow rates using advanced instrumentation.
- Handle raw materials—transferring them safely from tankers to totes, and finished goods to outgoing orders.
- Conduct routine inspections to detect malfunctions or hazards, promptly reporting issues.
- Collect samples for rigorous quality control testing, ensuring excellence in every batch.
- Document operations meticulously, tracking process conditions, material usage, and production output.
- Follow batch sheets and safety regulations for precise execution of manufacturing processes.
- Safely transfer chemicals and materials, adhering to handling procedures.
- Maintain equipment through routine cleaning, lubrication, and minor adjustments.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors for seamless workflow.
- Operate forklifts and handle materials, moving raw ingredients and finished products as needed.
- Keep your workspace organized and hazard-free for maximum efficiency.
- Be ready for additional tasks assigned by your supervisor.
Qualification
- 1+ years of verifiable material handler experience
- 1+ years of verifiable forklift experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must pass a background and drug screen
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Must have dependable transportation
- Must demonstrate math/arithmetic skills.
- Certifications or training in chemical processes.
- Technical skills related to chemical processes and equipment.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and procedures.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively.
- Basic computer skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to comply with safety and quality regulations, including wearing protective gear when necessary.
- Ability to lift 50lbs or more.
