Job Full Description
Express Employment Professionals is currently recruiting for a Deputy Clerk to work in the Real Estate Records Room of a local office in Augusta, GA. This position is ideal for individuals who are detail-oriented, organized, and capable of handling legal documentation with accuracy and professionalism.
Compensation: $15.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Key Responsibilities
- Index real estate deeds, liens, and plats into the public records system
- Review and process legal documents for accuracy and compliance
- Provide customer service to the public regarding real estate records
- Maintain and organize physical and digital files
- Assist with scanning, data entry, and document archiving
- Ensure timely and accurate updates to the real estate database
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- At least 1 year of experience in customer service, administration, or records management
- Data entry experience with high accuracy
- Pass a background check and drug screen
- Must have reliable transportation
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to lift up to 10 pounds
- Ability to perform basic math functions: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, counting, and measuring
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with real estate documents and terminology
- Experience working in a legal, court, or government office
- Proficiency with office software and document management systems
- Strong organizational and communication skills
