We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Yard Clerk / Checker to support daily warehouse and yard operations. This role is ideal for someone comfortable working both indoors and outdoors, using a tablet to verify shipments, and ensuring accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify incoming and outgoing shipments against purchase orders, bills of lading, and packing lists
- Use a tablet or handheld device to record, track, and update shipment data in real time
- Inspect materials for damage, shortages, or discrepancies and report issues promptly
- Coordinate with warehouse staff, drivers, and supervisors to ensure smooth loading/unloading
- Maintain accurate inventory records and yard location tracking
- Direct drivers to appropriate loading/unloading areas when needed
- Ensure proper labeling, tagging, and documentation of materials
- Perform routine yard checks to confirm inventory accuracy and organization
- Follow all safety procedures while working around equipment and vehicle traffic
- Work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
