Graphic Designer / Print Production Specialist

About the Opportunity
Express Employment Professionals is recruiting a Graphic Designer / Print Production Specialist for a growing company in Honolulu's signage, large-format printing, and visual communications industry.
This position is ideal for candidates with experience in graphic design, print production, prepress, signage, digital printing, and Adobe Creative Suite. The role combines creative design work with hands-on production responsibilities, supporting a variety of projects including banners, decals, signs, displays, vehicle graphics, and other visual communication materials.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically proficient, and comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment while maintaining high-quality standards and meeting project deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and process customer artwork and digital files for large-format printing and production.
- Verify file specifications including dimensions, resolution, color settings, and print readiness.
- Operate digital printing and finishing equipment used to produce signs, banners, decals, displays, and related graphics.
- Perform finishing duties including laminating, trimming, mounting, assembling, packaging, and preparing products for delivery.
- Modify, adjust, and create artwork using Adobe Creative Suite applications.
- Support quality control efforts by inspecting finished products for accuracy, consistency, and workmanship.
- Maintain accurate job documentation and production records throughout the project lifecycle.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure projects are completed on time and according to customer requirements.
- Identify customer needs and communicate opportunities for additional products and services.
- Maintain an organized, efficient, and safety-focused work environment.
- Assist with additional production and graphics-related projects as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe InDesign.
- Strong graphic design portfolio demonstrating creative and technical design abilities.
- Working knowledge of print production workflows, file preparation, and prepress standards.
- Understanding of color management, artwork setup, and print-ready file specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience in graphic design, signage production, print production, digital printing, visual communications, or related industries.
- Experience operating large-format printers, cutters, plotters, laminators, or other production equipment.
- Familiarity with quality control and production workflow processes.
- Ability to safely handle production materials and equipment as required.
