General Ledger Accountant

Key Responsibilities

  1. Accounts Payable Management
    • Review, verify, and process invoices with proper documentation and approvals
    • Prioritize payments to align with project timelines and company cash flow
    • Process check requests, credit card statements, and reimbursements
  2. Payment & Vendor Support
    • Match invoices to payments, collect signatures, and distribute checks
    • Reconcile vendor statements, resolve discrepancies, and respond to vendor inquiries
    • Build and maintain strong vendor relationships
  3. Financial Records & Reporting
    • Maintain accurate, organized AP records in compliance with GAAP and company policy
    • Assist with monthly closings, reconciliations, and ad-hoc accounting projects
  4. Project & Team Support
    • Provide financial support to project managers and operations staff
    • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure smooth financial operations

Required Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in Accounts Payable or general ledger accounting
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and workflows
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office Suite
• Excellent communication skills for vendor, team, and client interactions
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities
• Comfortable with fast, accurate math (fractions, percentages, etc.)
• Positive, proactive, and collaborative work style

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Experience with Ajera (architecture/engineering industry software)
• Familiarity with ADP Workforce Now
• Background in civil engineering, construction, or architecture industries
