Accounting Manager
Location: Honolulu, HI | Schedule: Full‑time, Hybrid (4 days on‑site + 1 remote)
Compensation: Up to $90,000 DOE + benefits
Role Overview
Lead day‑to‑day accounting and close while owning GAAP reporting, grants/contract compliance, audit readiness, and cash management. You’ll guide budgeting/forecasting, partner with leadership on program decisions, and drive continuous improvement across people, process, and systems.
Key Responsibilities
Operations: Oversee billing, AP/AR, GL, and month‑end reconciliations; maintain strong internal controls and accounting procedures.
Reporting & Compliance: Prepare GAAP financials; manage grants/contract reporting, audit coordination, and annual business filings.
FP&A: Lead budgeting/forecasting; analyze budget‑to‑actuals and present insights to leadership and external stakeholders.
Cash & Banking: Monitor cash flow; manage banking/investment activity and treasury processes.
Leadership: Provide guidance to staff; standardize workflows; upskill the team on systems and best practices.
Experience & Qualifications
Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance (CPA/MBA preferred).
6+ years in accounting, including 2+ years leading or supervising; nonprofit/grant reporting preferred.
Proficiency with GAAP, QuickBooks/Sage Intacct, Bill.com, and Excel (lookups/pivots).
