Payroll Specialist
Location: Honolulu, HI | Schedule: In‑person | Pay: $31/hr

What You’ll Do:
• Run full‑cycle payroll: onboard new hires, process changes, final pay, bonuses/special payments, and ensure accurate pay rates, accruals, and leave balances.
• Review and approve time & attendance; reconcile payroll batches and resolve discrepancies before transmission.
• Manage deductions and benefits (health, 401(k), HI TDI, etc.); liaise with providers and respond to employee payroll/benefit inquiries.
• Maintain clean payroll records and SOPs; ensure compliance with federal/state payroll laws (withholding, FICA, FUTA/SUTA).
• Support expense reimbursement and timesheet/job‑cost time entry as it relates to payroll (no heavy accounting work).
Qualifications
• 2+ years of hands‑on payroll experience (multi‑step processing, audits, corrections, and compliance).
• Working knowledge of payroll systems (e.g., ADP/Deltek/HRIS/timekeeping) and strong Excel for lookups/pivots/data checks.
• Detail‑oriented, deadline‑reliable, and service‑minded with clear communication to employees and leaders.
• Degree in Accounting/Business or related field preferred (not required).
