Accountant

$60,000 – $70,000 (DOE)
About the Opportunity
We are seeking a well-rounded Accountant to join a growing government contractor in Honolulu. This role is ideal for someone with strong core accounting experience who is willing to take ownership of payroll processing (training provided).

Key Responsibilities
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including billing and collections
- Prepare invoices, monitor receivables, and ensure timely contract billing
- Maintain financial records, reconciliations, and general accounting activities
- Process vendor payments (check/ACH) and maintain AP documentation
Payroll (Biweekly Ownership):
- Process and manage biweekly payroll (training provided)
- Review and validate employee timesheets and approvals for accuracy
- Maintain payroll data in systems (Ceridian, timekeeping tools)
Qualifications
- Required: Experience in DoD, government contracting, or DCAA environment
- 3–5+ years of accounting experience (AP/AR, reconciliations, bookkeeping)
- Willingness to own payroll processing (prior experience helpful but not required)
