Assembly Mechanic – 2nd Shift
The Assembly Mechanic works under the supervision of the Assembly Supervisor to assemble unit sections and sub-assemblies according to company standards. This role may work independently or as part of a team in a manufacturing environment. This is a long-term, full-time position that pays $19.40/hr.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble parts and components into completed unit sections and sub-assemblies
- Follow work instructions, production orders, and shop drawings to meet quality standards
- Use basic hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Identify and correct mistakes with a positive, continuous improvement mindset
- Participate in team efforts focused on safety, quality, and process improvement
- Meet productivity, safety, and quality targets, including maintaining 90% efficiency
- Frequent standing, bending, lifting, and movement throughout the shift
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Qualifications
- Ability to read production orders and basic shop drawings
- Basic shop math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions)
- Ability to measure using a tape measure to 1/16"
- Familiarity with hand and power tools
- Ability to operate an overhead crane after training
- High school diploma or GED preferred
