Job Full Description
Position Summary
The Accounts Payable Specialist supports the Bank’s financial operations by ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant processing of accounts payable transactions. This role works closely with internal departments and external vendors while maintaining strong internal controls and adhering to banking regulations and accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities

Process, review, and accurately code vendor invoices in accordance with Bank policies and accounting standards

Verify invoices against purchase orders, contracts, and supporting documentation

Ensure appropriate approvals are obtained prior to payment processing

Prepare and process regular payment runs, including checks and electronic payments (ACH and wires)

Maintain accurate and organized accounts payable records within the Bank’s accounting systems

Reconcile vendor statements and research and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner

Respond professionally to vendor and internal inquiries regarding invoices and payment status
-
Monitor accounts payable aging to ensure timely payments and avoid late fees or penalties

Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities related to accounts payable
- Collaborate with internal departments to support efficient financial operations and continuous process improvement
