MIG Welder
Our client is currently seeking an experienced MIG Welder for a temp-to-hire opportunity with a reputable metal fabrication company located in Rockford, IL. This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in precision work and enjoys working in a production or custom fabrication environment. This position has plenty of overtime! Jobs Responsibilities:
- Perform MIG welding on mild steel and other metals based on job requirements.
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to ensure accuracy in welds.
- Operate hand and power tools, grinders, and fabrication equipment safely.
- Inspect and test welds for structural integrity and appearance.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while following all safety procedures.
- Work independently or as part of a team to meet production deadlines.
Job Qualifications:
- 1–3 years of MIG welding experience in a manufacturing or fabrication setting.
- Ability to read blueprints and welding symbols.
- Familiarity with shop tools and fabrication equipment.
- Must be detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet throughout the shift.
