Senior Accountant
Location: Springfield, IL (area)
Salary: $62,000/year
Schedule: Full-time | Monday–Friday | Approx. 8:00 AM–4:30 PM (flexible)
A well-established, community-focused organization in the Springfield area is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its finance team. This is a long-term opportunity in a stable, low-turnover environment with strong work-life balance. The Senior Accountant will report to the Director of Finance and oversee day-to-day accounting functions.
Responsibilities:

Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports

Manage month-end and year-end close processes

Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and audit support

Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls

Collaborate with internal departments on financial and reporting needs
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field

3+ years of progressive accounting experience

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Ability to work independently and within a team environment
