Telephone Operator – Springfield, IL
💲 $17/hr | 🕒 Second Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM | Rotating Weekends
About the Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Telephone Operator to manage incoming calls for multiple accounts in a fast-paced yet laid-back office environment. This role is perfect for someone with a strong phone presence, high typing skills, and an eye for detail.
Responsibilities:
- Answer calls from 400+ different accounts, identifying the caller quickly
- Accurately record names, addresses, phone numbers, and general messages
- Ensure proper spelling, punctuation, and grammar in all entries
- Transition between calls smoothly with a professional and friendly attitude
- Assist with other tasks during quieter periods of the shift
Requirements:
- High typing speed (40–50 WPM) and accuracy
- Excellent phone voice and professional communication skills
- Strong attention to detail, spelling, and punctuation
- Dependable, adaptable, and able to maintain a sense of humor
- Must be available for rotating weekends
Schedule & Pay:
- Second Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
- $17/hour
- Casual attire, laid-back office, weekly pay, PERC card provided
- Overtime available
Additional Info:
- Office can be cool due to computer requirements
- Shift can be slow at times, allowing time for other reading or light tasks
