Breakfast Cook: Springfield, IL
5 AM–12 PM, Mon–Fri, some weekends | Springfield, IL | $16/hour
Calling early birds! If you're already up before the sun and love a busy kitchen, this one's for you. A Springfield hotel needs a Breakfast Cook to run its breakfast service from 5 AM to noon. You'll cook eggs and omelets to order, keep the buffet full and fresh, and send hot plates out to guests with a server's help. Then your afternoon is yours.
What You'll Love

- 5 AM–noon shift, Monday–Friday, with some weekends
- Out by noon, so the rest of your day is for family, errands, a second gig, or a nap
- A hands-on kitchen where your cooking skills take center stage
- A server on the floor to deliver food to guests
- A breakfast-focused menu with a mix of buffet and cook-to-order items
What You'll Do
- Cook food for the breakfast buffet and prepare cook-to-order items
- Follow a recipe book for orders, with eggs and omelets as the specialty
- Cook on skillets (not a flat top) and flip omelets
- Keep the buffet stocked quickly as guests come through
- Handle food prep and cleaning as needed
- Help with dishwashing and unloading delivery trucks
What You'll Bring
- ServSafe food handler certificate (required)
- Experience in a restaurant kitchen (not fast food)
- Strong egg-cooking skills, or a quick learner who picks them up fast
- Comfort reading and following recipes
- Cook-to-order experience is a bonus
- Customer service skills
- Ability to work independently
- Comfortable standing for long stretches and lifting up to 50 lbs
- Reliable, on time, and an early riser
