Welder/Fabricator: Custom Iron & Steel, Springfield, IL
Day shift, 8 AM–5 PM, Mon–Fri | Springfield, IL | Up to $25/hour, based on experience
If you take pride in turning raw steel and iron into something people notice, this is a good fit. A family-owned Springfield shop that builds custom ornamental iron and steel work needs a Welder/Fabricator. You'll work from blueprints, fit and weld each piece, and help the shop win more contracts and finish orders faster.

What You'll Do
- Fabricate and fit steel and iron to blueprint specifications
- Weld construction-grade steel
- Take accurate measurements with a tape measure
- Build custom pieces from start to finish
- Move materials safely through the shop
- Run fabrication machinery, including benders, punches, and presses
- Help the shop turn jobs around quickly
What You'll Bring
- Fabrication welding experience, with decorative or ornamental work a big plus
- Comfort reading blueprints and a tape measure
- A self-starter who keeps projects moving
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and to use hoists for anything heavier
- High school diploma or equivalent
