Book Bindery Machine Operator - Cover Pulling (Girard, IL)
Full-time | 1st or 2nd shift | Girard, IL | $16.50/hour

A Girard book manufacturer is hiring a Bindery Machine Operator to make hard back book covers on its cover-pulling machine. You’ll cut boards to size, keep an eye on the glue, and turn out clean, accurate covers in a clean, climate-controlled plant. No bindery experience is needed. We’ll show you how it works.

What You’ll Do
- Make hard back book covers using a cover-making machine
- Cut boards to the specified dimensions with shears
- Monitor the glue consistency throughout production
- Measure and check covers with pica rulers to make sure they’re the right size
- Keep production moving at a steady, accurate pace
What You’ll Bring

- Quick, nimble hands and good hand-eye coordination
- Patience and focus for steady, repetitive work
- Comfort working independently and staying on task
- Factory or production experience is welcome but not required
- A mechanical mindset is a bonus
- Ability to stand for a full shift
