Machine Attendant – Night Shift (Entry Level)
Springfield, IL | $18/hr
Looking for a hands-on, mechanically minded person who wants to learn a skilled trade? Join a long-established manufacturer on the upswing and get paid to learn gear machining, with full training provided.
What You’ll Love
- $18/hr
- Four 10-hour nights, Monday–Thursday (7:30 PM–6:00 AM), with Fridays through Sundays off
- Paid training in valuable machining skills

What You’ll Do
- Run several gear hobbing and gear grinding machines at once
- Produce gears on long machine cycles, with time to monitor and check your work
- Learn to use micrometers and other measuring tools
- Keep an eye on quality and keep production moving
What You’ll Bring
- Mechanical know-how from auto work, factory machines, farm equipment, or similar
- Strong math skills and attention to detail
- Patience and flexibility, since some of the equipment is older
- A commitment to learning and sticking with a company that is investing in you
- Machining experience is a plus, but not required
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
