Job Title: Marine Maintenance Technician / Diesel Mechanic
Location: Pasadena, MD
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Pay: $23–$30/hr (based on experience)
Job Overview:
We are currently seeking a skilled Marine Maintenance Technician / Diesel Mechanic to join a reputable marine service provider in the Pasadena, MD area. This is a hands-on role focused on the maintenance, repair, and overall care of boats and marine equipment.
This position is ideal for someone who is mechanically inclined and capable of working on a wide range of engines and equipment. The right candidate enjoys troubleshooting, fixing things, and working in a fast-paced, outdoor environment.
Responsibilities:
- Perform general maintenance and repairs on boats and marine equipment
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines and mechanical systems
- Maintain and service onboard systems (water lines, pumps, fuel systems, and basic electrical)
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance
- Troubleshoot mechanical and maintenance-related issues
- Assist with seasonal tasks such as winterization and vessel preparation
- Support boat launches, hauling, and general marina operations
- Clean, detail, and maintain overall vessel condition
- Operate tools and equipment safely and efficiently
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
Requirements:
- Proven experience in mechanical, diesel, or maintenance roles
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work on various types of engines/equipment
- Basic knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems
- Ability to safely use hand and power tools
- Must pass a drug screening
- Reliable transportation and strong attendance
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Comfortable working outdoors and around water
Preferred:
- Marine or boating experience
- Diesel engine experience (marine preferred but not required)
- Familiarity with marine systems (pumps, tanks, wiring, fuel systems)
- Experience with seasonal maintenance or winterization
