Job Full Description
The Industrial Maintenance Technician/Machine Repair Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining industrial equipment and machinery in a manufacturing or production environment. This role requires a keen understanding of mechanical and electrical systems to ensure minimal downtime and maintain optimal production efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on industrial machinery, including conveyors, pumps, motors, and other production equipment.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to identify and resolve issues.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with production teams to schedule repairs and minimize downtime.
- Maintain records of maintenance and repairs performed, including any parts used and time spent.
- Assist in the installation of new equipment and machinery.
- Participate in ongoing training and development to stay current with industry trends and best practices.
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks as assigned to reduce the likelihood of unplanned equipment failure.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate’s degree in industrial maintenance, mechanical engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience as an Industrial Maintenance Technician, Machine Repair Technician, or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
- Familiarity with maintenance management software (CMMS) is a plus.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and ability to work safely in industrial settings.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift heavy objects and work in physically demanding conditions.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces as necessary.
