Job Description:
We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Slitter Operator to join our steel processing team in Belleville, MI. The ideal candidate will have experience operating slitting machines in a steel service center, with a strong understanding of steel types, material tolerances, and common defects.

Responsibilities:

• Operate slitting equipment to process steel coils into narrower coils per customer specifications.
• Set up, adjust, and monitor slitter machine parameters based on work orders.
• Use measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, micrometers, and gauges to ensure material accuracy and quality.
• Identify steel types and recognize material defects.
• Inspect finished products and perform quality checks.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area, following all safety procedures and wearing required PPE.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a steel service center operating a coil slitting machine is required.
• Must be familiar with gauges, micrometers, calipers, tape measures, and identifying steel types and defects.
• Ability to read and interpret work orders and material specifications.
• Must be able to work full-time, Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
• Steel-toe boots (STB) and a hard hat are required.
• Ability to lift and handle heavy materials safely.
